- Summary
- Hal Jordan was considered the greatest Green Lantern of them all. High praise considering the intergalactic Green Lantern Corps traces its history back billions of years. But Hal Jordan lost control, allowed himself to be corrupted, and sought to use his power in ways proscribed by the Corps' masters, the Guardians of the Universe. He killed countless comrades-in-arms and assulted the Central Power Battery, seeking the energy he needed to assuage his guilt. He failed and vanished. Later, when all life on Earth was threatened, Hal Jordan reappeared and made the ultimate sacrifice. When his sould was tapped to govern the Spectre, the Wrath of God, Jordan turned the Astral Avenger into the Spirit of Redemption as he sought a peaceful end to his existence. After several years of activity on Earth, The Spectre became restless, and sought a way to prove himself worthy of that noble reputation. This is the story of how a man born without fear and seeking to rebuild his life puts cosmic forces into motion that will have repercussions not only on Earth but across the universe
